Overview
Sports Tension Syndrome refers to a series of nerve symptoms caused by the nernousness before or in the process of competition. It is mainly manifested dizziness, headache, amnesia, anorexia, abdominal pain, diarrhea, cold sweating, muscle fremitus, even fainting. It is separated into nervous syablome of competition and nervous syndrome of examination. It is always seen in students and athletes. It is equal to "Angina pectons” “Amnesial" "fainting" in TCM. Acupuncture and moxibustion is used to reinforce the heart and spleen, regulate liver Qi, and tranquilize.
Treatment
1. Baihui (DU 20)
Baihui is sterilized with 2% iodine and is needled horizontally forward or backward to the mandible with 1.5 cun filiform needles with the angle of 15°. When the needle is inserted, it should be manipulated in searching for points in moderate stimulation, requiring that patients have obvious needling sensation, then retained for 30 min. The reinforcing and reducing manipulation methods are applied according to the excessive or deficient syndrome. The needle tip pointing to the direction follows the flowing route of DU meridian means reinforcing, otherwise reducing. It is in needling required once every day. 10 times make up one course of treatment.
2. Subcortex (AT 4)
Ear point is ordinarily sterilized and then is needled perpendicularly to the cartilage, then quickly manipulated with twirling-rotating in moderate or electrical needle can also be attached, or stimulation the ear with cowherb seeds and 3 times everyday or 1 time before competition.
Note
Acupuncture and moxibustion has good effect and no side-effect at the same time. It has no influence on the medicine-checking results of the athlete.
