Bitter, acrid, slightly sweet. toxic.

Liver, kidney, stomach.
 
Medical functions:
The methanol extract of qian nian jian possesses the obvious effect of anti-inflammation, arresting pain. The methanol or ethanol extract possesses the effect of antihistamine and it water extract possesses stronger anti-coagulation effect. Its evaporating oil can inhibit Brucella spp. and herpes simplex I virus.

It can inhibit the primary inflammation and secondary inflammation caused by injections in rats. Higher dosage can also inhibit the ear swelling of mice caused by dimethylbenzene. It shows that it can inhibit acute inflammation; also it can improve the secondary joints diseases of rat. It shows it possesses the effect of anti-rheumatoid arthritis.
 
Actions & Indications:
Rheumatic Arthritis, spastic arms and legs, pain in muscles and bones, injuries from impact. Single herb is being used in wind-damp type of arthritis and gastric pain.
 
Chemical ingredients:
α-pinene, β-pinene,limonene, linalool, α-terpineol, nerol, geraniol, eugenol, geranial, β-terpineol, isoborneol, terpinen-4-ol, patchouli alcohol.

Daly Dosage:
4~9g；concentrated extract:0.5～2g
 
Cautions:
Use with caution in case of yinxu (yin deficient).
