The intravenous injectiones can maintain long diuretic effect on anesthesized dogs. The decoction when taken orally by normal persons, the amount of urine and chlorides or steel, obviously increased.
The intravenous injectiones can maintain long hypotensive effect on anesthesized dogs.
The abdomen cavity injection of the decotion can shorten the bleeding time. Localized application on the tails of mice that were cut, also were effective in arresting the bleeding.
The intravenous injectiones produced good protective result for dogs that had been bitten by poisonous snake.

Being used as antpyretic, diuretics.
For treatment of cirrhosis with edema, nephritis with edema, late stage schistosomiasi with edema, Chronic Tonsilitis, appendicitis, Asthma, dyspnea, and for poisonous snake bite.
External use in injuries from impacts, carbuncles and hard furuncles.
Chemical ingredients:
The whole herb contains many kinds of alkaloids. The main ones are: lobeline, lobelanine, isolobelanine, lobelanidine and also contains saponins, flavanoids, and reaction of amino acid.
Dosage:
15 to 30 g.
External use: apply appropriate amount. Use smashed fresh herb to apply to affected areas.
