Gansu, Sichuan, yunnan, Guizhou, Hubei provinces of China.

Properties (characteristics):
Bitter, cold slightly toxic

Actions & Indications:
Promote qi flow, rid of dampness-heat, clear liver fire, rid of pain, promote urination, regulates qi, kills parasites.

Also used externally for fungus infections of scalp.

ku lian pi should be cooked longer than other herbs in the formula, because the active ingredients are more difficult to dissolve in water.
