Distribution:
Distributed in the Madeira Islands, southern Europe, the Mediterranean, the Caucasus region of Russia. This species is native of southern Europe. It has been introduced into China.
 
Properties (characteristics):
Sour, acrid, warm.
 
Medical functions:
Effects of: lessening permeability of blood vessels,  protecting blood vessels, anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor, antibacterial, diuretic.
 
Actions & Indications:
Being used in promoting sweating (as diaphoretic), as diuretic, Chronic Nephritis, Renal Cyst, in urinary gravel, scrofulous TB, scrofulous tumors, as mild laxative, orthostatic hypotension, venous insufficiency.
