3. Effect on the circulatory system: intravenous injection of 50% of antelope horn decoction at 2ml/kg dropped the blood pressure of cats under anesthesia. The antihypertensive effect weakened in cat with vagus nerves severed; indicating that the central nervous system may be related to blood pressure response. Small doses of decoction or alcohol extract strengthen the contraction of isolated toad heart. Moderate doses inhibited the heart conduction signal. Llarge doses caused heart rate to slow down and amplitude decreased, and finally caused cardiac arrest.
4. Other effects: antelope horn water extract caused the increase tolerance to hypoxia in mice and had analgesic effect.

Epilypsy, convulsion due to liver wind, spastic muscle, headache and dizziness due to liver yang ascending, pink and swollen eyes, bleeding due to blood heat, purpura due to warm diseases, boils.

Dosage:

Cautions:
Do not use this herb if there is no heat in the gall bladder channel.
