Distribution:
Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Yunnan provinces of China.

Properties (characteristics):
Slightly bitter, cool.

Lung, liver, spleen, stomach, large intestine﹐

Medical functions:
Alcohol extract of 200mg/ml of the herb possesses the effect of inhibiting the  tissues of rectum cancer or colon cancer in vitro.

The water decoction of the herb possesses the destroying effect on the stable splitting of the Hela cells of cervic uterine in vitro.

Using cell breathing method experiment, it showed that it can inhibit the leukemia cells above 75%.

Alcohol extract of the herb possesses the inhibiting effect on transplanted tumor S-180 on mice, Ehrlich ascites tumor, brain tumor-22.

Intravenous injection of the extract on animals showed hypotensive effect but oral application did not produce the same effect.

The yellow needle like crystals of alcohol extract showed that it possesses diuretic effect on animals in experiments.

The water decoction of the herb possesses the inhibiting effect on Staphylococcus aureus, Shigella dysenteriae, Salmonella typhi, and Escherichia coli.

The extract of the herb mainly affects the blood vessels of the tumor tissue and causes the tumor become avascular necrosis.
 
Actions & Indications:
Tumor, appendicitis, Virus Hepatitis, ascites from cirrhosis of liver, lung abscess. External uses: Mastitis, snake bites, external injuries.
 
Dosage:
15 to 30 g﹐ Large dosages can be up to 60 g, Use appropriate amount for external use, Smash fresh herb and apply to affected areas﹐

Cautions:
Use with care in cases of pregnancies or in patients with Blood deficient .
