Distribution:
Found in all China. Main production areas are Qin Ling mountain areas of the south western part Shaanxi and also Jiangsu. Production of Qin Ling is about 60% of all the production of China. The small meng chong is mainly produced in Inner Mongolia, Shanxi area which produce a smaller amount. Other provinces like Guangxi, Sichuan, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Hunan, Hubei, Shanxi, Henan, Liaoning also produce meng chong.
Properties (characteristics):
Bitter, slightly cold, toxic.

Liver.
Medical functions:
In animal studies it proves that the decoction of meng chong can improve the volume of blood circulation in blood vessels, and can increase the contraction of the heart of frogs in vitro. It can protect the heart from damage of lack of oxygen caused by the posterior pituitary function. It can protect the tissues from lack of oxygen.
