The 7th China Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Industry Development Conference is scheduled to be held in Nanyang from Sept 27 to 29.
This year's session coincides with the 13th Zhang Zhongjing Medicine Culture Festival, an annual event in commemoration of Zhang Zhongjing, a famous medical scientist from Nanyang during the East Han Dynasty (AD 25–220).
With the first Law of the People's Republic of China on Traditional Chinese Medicine taking effect on July 1, experts and scholars from the industry and State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine have been invited to hold in-depth discussions on its contents and highlights.
The practical experiences of different regions, the ties between TCM and the Belt & Road Initiative, industries of TCM and healthcare culture will also be discussed during the event.
A total of seven forums will be held on the sidelines of the conference, which will involve the protection of TCM resources, innovation of talents, healthcare and tourism. Dubbed as "a natural storehouse of medicine", Nanyang is richly endowed with TCM resources. Covering 1.6 million mu (106,667 hectares), more than 79 species of Chinese medical herbs are planted in the city.
