A base for the promotion and development of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) in Northeast Asia was launched recently at Changchun University of Chinese Medicine, Jilin province.
The establishment plays a significant role in the development of the Belt and Road Initiative in the aspect of TCM promotion and will improve international teaching of the medical science.
The production value of the TCM industry in Jilin province has reached 100 billion yuan ($14.5 billion) and has been the largest in China in the past ten years.
Changchun University of Chinese Medicine, located in Changchun, capital of Jilin province, has held many international conferences on traditional Chinese medicine and has signed cooperative agreements with more than 20 countries about constructing TCM educating institutes.
The base, with both the geographical and education advantages, will be able to integrate the TCM resources in NE China and better promote this medical science to the world.
