Inattention
Inattention is characterised as an individual moving between tasks without completing any one activity, seemingly losing interest in one task because they become diverted to another. Individuals with inattention are often easily distracted and forgetful, and experience difficulties when organising activities. At school, children with ADHD may struggle to listen and be frequently distracted; in the workplace, adults with ADHD may appear as if their mind is elsewhere and their work may be messy and performed carelessly.

Hyperactivity
Hyperactivity refers to excessive motor activity, and may present differently depending on the patient's age. In children, it may present as the child running and jumping around at inappropriate times, getting up from a seat when he or she is supposed to remain seated, fidgeting and wriggling, or excessive talkativeness and noisiness. In adolescents and adults, hyperactivity may manifest as inner feelings of extreme restlessness and wearing others out with their activity.

Impulsivity
Individuals with impulsive tendencies can be reckless and appear impatient, and are often disinhibited in social situations. They may find it difficult to wait their turn, intruding on or interrupting others'activities or blurting out answers to a question before it has been completed.

Behavioral Therapy
Behavioral therapy is sometimes called behavioral intervention. It helps people with inattentive type ADHD function at school, work, or home. Getting rid of distractions and unpredictability is a key factor in leading a successful life with inattentive type ADHD. Here are some tricks to help you do this for yourself or your child:
-- Create a routine and stick to it.
-- Turn off televisions, radios, and other electronic devices when doing work or homework to cut down on distractions.
-- Be brief and clear when giving instructions to someone with ADHD.
-- Start a behavior chart to help your child work toward a reward for good behavior.

Diet and Nutrition
In order to support the treatment of ADHD effectively, you need to take closed attention on your kids’ nutrition and diet. Due to the different requirements of body and brain, it is essential to maintain well-balance diet so that your kids can have better memory and attention span as well as sharper reflexes.

-- Consume more foods rich of magnesium such as spinach, pumpkin and sunflower seeds, soybeans, cashews and black beans. It will help ease irritability, improve span of attention and reduce mental confusion.

-- Consume more foods containing vitamin B6 in order to decrease irritability like bananas, avocados, prunes and nuts.

-- Consume more foods rich of zinc like liver, oysters, cheese, sesame seeds and peanuts.

-- Keep out of foods containing artificial colors and sweeteners, preservatives or flavoring as those foods might trigger hyperactive behavior and disable learning.
