[Location] Localized in the supine position. On the foot, anterior and inferior to the external malleolus, in the depression on the lateral side of the tendon of m. extensor digitorum longus. (Fig.58)
 
[Regional Anatomy] Skin→subcutaneous tissue→the extensor digitorum brevis→the lateral talocalcaneo ligament→tarsal sinus. The distribution of the superficial dorsal nerve of foot, the lateral dorsal cutaneous nerve of foot, the intermediate dorsal cutaneous nerve of foot, and the anterior artery and vein of the external malleolus.
