[Location] Localized in the supine position or in the lateral recumbent position. On the lateral aspect of the lower leg, 3 cun above the tip of the external malleolus, on the anterior border of the fibula. ( Fig.57 )
[Regional Anatomy] Skin→subcutaneous tissue→the extersor hallucis longus→the crural interosseous membrane. Superficial layer, the distribution of the lateral sural cutaneous nerve; deep layer, the branch of the deep peroneal nerve. It can be punctured at the peroneal artery and vein if you pierce the crural interosseous membrane.
