How To Treat:
Please note all of these points are located on both sides of you body. Look for the tender spot and push. You may or may not be tender. Everyone is unique and tenderness or a lack of tenderness is not a cause for concern. Find each point and push for a minute or so. I recommend pushing each of these points 2-3 times a day, one week before your cycle and during, until credit card commercials aren’t making you cry or the desire to strangle others subsides.

The Points:
Hegu (LI 4)
Useful for pain, headaches, excess sweating, anger and frustration. It is located between the thumb and pointer finger a half inch up from the web on both hands. This point is NEVER to be used during pregnancy. (For more about this point for issues such as tooth pain, teething, sinus pain and more, see my post, "Acupressure for Headaches.")

Liver 3 (LV3):
Useful for cramping, breast tenderness, headaches, dizziness, light or heavy flow, sadness, frustration, anger and depression. It is located on both feet between the big toe and second toe about an inch from the web. (This point, when paired with LI 4, is called "The 4 Gates" and is the acupressure/acupuncture "go to" point combination to the regulate emotions.)

Sanyinjiao (SP6)
Useful for insomnia, palpitations, anxiety, heavy or light bleeding, cramping, exhaustion, upset stomach and dizziness. This point is NEVER to be used during pregnancy. It is about 3-4 inches up from your ankle bone on the inside of both legs. This point is often very tender on most women.

Zusanli (ST 36)
Useful for exhaustion, upset stomach, diarrhea, bloating, nausea, vomiting, depression, nervousness, insomnia, general weakness, and breast pain. It is located on the outside of both lower legs about 3 inches below the knee. (This is probably the most widely used point in all of acupressure and acupuncture. You could write an entire book about it. In short, when in doubt, no matter what the issue, push here.)
