Causes of Bradycardia in TCM

According to the theory of traditional Chinese medicine, there are some patterns of syndrome that lead to bradycardia.
1. Deficiency of Heart and Spleen
2. Deficiency of Spleen and kidney
3. Stagnation of Qi and Blood
4. Stagnation of Phlegm Invading the Heart

Our TCM clinical practice has showed that integration of Chinese medicine and western medicine is a very good choice for this disease. When treating bradycardia, Chinese doctors will take everything into consideration, including the following conditons.
1. The electrical impulse that travels from the upper to the lower chamber of the heart is irregular or blocked
2. Sick sinus syndrome (eg, sinus bradycardia or sinus node dysfunction)
3. The heart's natural pacemaker is not functioning correctly
4. Heart block
5. A hereditary heart defect
6. Certain illnesses or heart medications
7. The natural aging process
8. Scar tissue from a heart attack
