Sometimes it is necessary to differentiate from scrotal neurodermatitis, scrotal pruritus caused by deficiency of riboflavin, and extramammary eczema-like carcinoma.
(1) The scrotal neurodermatitis can be seen as a flat papule, which is severe throughout the entire scrotum. It is characterized by the fact that although itching, there is no exudation, and the skin becomes thicker and thicker in the shape of a mat.
(2) The scrotal itching caused by deficiency of riboflavin is generally short and generally has no obvious skin hypertrophy. Oral administration of riboflavin can be effective in the short term and is often accompanied by glossitis or angular cheilitis.
(3)Esophageal eczema-like carcinoma is similar in appearance to eczema, but when observed carefully, the skin lesion is a clear-cut red patch with exudative scab and keratinized scale on the surface, which gradually enlarges, and even ulceration occurs. It is necessary to perform histopathological examination.
