Symptoms of Aphasia
Aphasia is a neurological condition where people find it difficult to use language correctly. People who have it may have difficulty in speaking, reading, writing, understanding, or repeating language. Stroke, brain tumors, serious head injuries, and progressive neurological conditions may trigger it. However, with one in three people experiencing some degree of aphasia after a stroke, stroke is thought to be the most typical cause of this disease.
Aphasia is a sign of some other condition, such as a stroke or a brain tumor. A person with aphasia may:
Speak in short or incomplete sentences
Speak in sentences that don't make sense
Substitute one word for another or one sound for another
Speak unrecognizable words
Not understand other people's conversation
