1) Crucian carp (Carassius Auratus)
Have fresh crucian carps rid of scales and internal organs, and stewed without soy sauce. Take it with the broth.
2) Crab (Cancer)
Have two crabs washed clean and boiled in water. Then, drink the water.
3) Red bean (Semen Phaseoli)
Make thin gruel with 120g of red beans and the right amount of water. Take it twice a day.
4) Sesame seed (Semen sesami)
Have 15g to 30g of sesame seeds parched until they give out fragrance and put in a bit of salt. Chew well before swallowing them.
5) Pumpkin seed (Semen Cucurbitae)
Have 15g of purepkin seed kernels pounded into a mash, infuse it with just the right amount of boiling water, or add a bit of white sugar to flavour it. Take it as one portion, twice a day, in the morning and in the evening respectively, on an empty stomach, for five to seven days successively. Pumpkin seeds do have lactigenous effect if taken raw (but have no such effect if used to make gruel or taken roasted.)
6) Pig trotter
Have some pig trotters stewed thoroughly. Take the meat and the broth. The above recipes are all applicable to hypogalactia due to deficiency of both qi and blood.
7) Tangerine leaf (Folium Citri Reticulatum)
Decoct tangerine leaves in water to get extract for oral administration.
8) Sword bean (Semen Canavaliae)
Have sword beans boiled and take them, or grind them into fine powder and take it after its infusion with boiling water.
The above two drugs are suitable for hypogalactia due to stagnation of the liver-qi.
9) Miscellanies
Chicken, chicken eggs, venison, carp, hair tail, cuttlefish, freshwater shrimps, sea prawns and others, all have lactigenous or lactagogue effect, and can be used for this purpose.
