Dietetic Chinese Drugs for Vomiting during Pregnancy

1) Raw hyacinth bean (Semen Dolichoris) 
Have 75g of raw hyacinth beans dried in the sun and ground into flag powder. Take 9g each time, three times a day, with millet (or rice) water.  If vomiting is serious, a gram of Rhizoma Coptidis (Huanglian)  powder should be taken before meals in addition to the hyacinth bean powder.

2) Tangerine leaf (Folium Citri Reticulatae) 
Decoct tangerine leaves in water to get extract for oral administration.

3) Kaki calyx (Calyx Kaki)
Have 10 kaki calyxes decocted in water so as to obtain extract for drinking.

4) Orange (Fructus Aurantii)  
Have oranges soaked in water to remove acidity, then, decoct the processed oranges in water with some honey to make decoction and drink it at short intervals.

5) Grapevine (Vinea)  
Have 10g of dried grapevine decocted in water to make decoction for oral administration.

6) Carp (Cyprinus Carpio)
Have a fresh carp (weighing more than 500g) washed clean and rid of its scales; put it on a dinner plate and steam it for 20 to 30 minutes before eating it. Eat it once a day for three to five days successively.  Don't use spices such as oil and salt, or it will have no curative effect. The drugs listed above are applicable to vomitus gravi. Darum caused by failure of descending of the stomach-qi due to deficiency of the stomach.

7) Black plum flower (Flos Mume) 
Have 6g of black plum flowers infused with boiling water, and then take it as a drink.

8) Shaddock ped (Pericarpium Citri Grandis)
Have a shaddock ped decocted in water, and then take the decoction in three separate portions.  Keep on taking such decoction for several days.

9) Watermelon juice (Succus Citrulli)
Squeeze the pulp of a watermelon to get its juice for drinking.
