I am sorry to hear about your mother who has Pancreatitis from a gallstone obstruction. She had an ERCP but the procedure was not completed due to inflammation of the sphincter. During this time there is nothing that can be done to reduce the inflammation other than letting nature takes it course. Your doctor is correct that she should stay on IV fluids and not feed her.
Any additional tests which maybe needed during this waiting period is to monitor her electrolytes, liver and kidneys with blood tests. Continue to observe her for any signs of distress, confusion, fever, increased uncontrollable abdominal pain and jaundice.
