The source is from the herb of Viola yedoensis Makino, family Violaceae. The medicinal material is mainly collected in spring and autumn, after cleaned, the fresh form is used or dried in the sun, cut into segments and the crude form is used for medication.

Medicinal Properties:
Bitter and pungent in flavor, cold in nature and attributive to the heart and liver meridians.

Actions:
Clear away heat and remove toxin, resolve carbuncle and disperse stagnation.

 

Application
1. It is used for carbuncle, furuncle, erysipelas, scrofula and all kinds of swelling toxin due to overabundance of heat, especially used for treatment of rooted furuncle. It can be decocted singly or the fresh is ground in-to juice for drinking and the dregs are covered on the affected place.
2. For snake poisoning, the large amount of the fresh one can be ground into juice for oral use.
