Distribution:
Produced in Taiwan, Guangdong, Hainan, Guangxi, Yunnan provinces of China. Also distributed in India, Indo-China Peninsula, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines and tropical America.
 
Properties (characteristics):
Bland, astringent, slightly cold.

Hepatoprotective effect: inhibits HBV replication 
anti virus
anti inflammatory
 
Actions & Indications:
For clearing liver fire and improving eyesight, removing dampness and promoting diuresis. For Infantile Malnutrition, corneal clouding, Conjunctivitis, Chronic Nephritis, Edema, Urinary Tract Infection, urinary tract stones, diarrhea, enteritis with diarrhea, hepatitis, flu with fever, snake bites.
 
Dosage:
For oral consumption,  in decoction: 6 to 12 g. Fresh herb: 30 to 60 g.
External application: use appropriate amount, smash and apply.

Cautions:
May have deleterious effect on kidney and testes.
