MIGRAINE MADNESS
A migraine headache is a biological disease characterized by multiple symptoms, including severe recurrent pain usually on one side of the head and one or more of the following: Nausea, vomiting and sensitivity to light and sound. It can last from 4 to 72 hours.
CHILDHOOD ILLNESSES
Children who are sick usually feel terrible, whether or not they are contagious. Two or three days spent in bed with breakfast trays, ginger ale, extended nap periods, a checkers game with dad and an extra movie rental or two are pretty good common sense medicine for most childhood ills.
HEALING VISIONS: Visualization is an alternative therapy such as acupressure and reflexology that encourages people to "see" a desired goal in their mind's eye (lowered blood pressure, for instance) and then to imagine themselves achieving it. Some severely ill patients use visualization in addition to standard medical therapy as a healing technique.
