Are you frustrated with the laundry adding up each day with extra bedding? Does your child have accidents in the night? Do you think that your child is unique with his/her problem? Are you feeling desperate? Do you need help with this?
Statistics show that after the age of 5, about 15% of children continue to wet the bed, and by the age of 10, around 95% of children are dry at night. Wet beds leave bad feelings all around. Frustrated parents sometimes feel that their child is wetting the bed out of laziness. Children also worry that there is something wrong with them, especially when they are labelled ‘baby’ or teased by their siblings. Kids also long to sleep over at a friend, but the awkwardness and stress around this creates anxiety and fear.
Reflexology is your answer. It is a non-invasive therapy which helps the body to maintain physiological balance and health, working towards normalization of function. In a reflexology session, we look at all sorts of aspects that could be contributing to the bed-wetting problem like sleeping patterns, low ADH (anti-diuretic hormone), delayed bladder maturation, stress, diet, water intake, self-esteem and anxiety. Each treatment is personalised to your child’s needs. Duration of a treatment is 30 minutes and is interactive and fun for the child. The goal is to make strong connections between the brain and the bladder while building up the self confidence of the child. Some children feel very low, embarrassed and awkward about their problems and while you try your best not to be outright disapproving, it is very hard to hide these feelings when you have to change sheets at 4:00am! In the session the focus is put on the dry nights not on the wet ones. Children will learn about their bodies and how to use powerful positive affirmation to help them on their journey to dry nights.
