The causes of the Central Hearing Loss include – lesions in the bilateral brainstem, damage in the structures of the brainstem, severe head trauma also results in hearing loss, temporal lesions on the right side. Some other Causes are injuries in the brainstem which is however rare because a lesion when occurs on the brainstem on both sides then deafness results.|

According to the theory of traditional Chinese medicine, there are some patterns of syndrome that lead to central hearing loss.
1. Syndrome of attack by wind and heat
2. Syndrome of liver fire stirring the upper
3. Syndrome of stagnation of phlegm and fire
4. Syndrome of blood stasis due to qi stagnation
