Journal of Guangdong Professional School of Chinese Medicine
The Guangdong Professional School of Chinese Medicine was planned in 1933 and inaugurated in 1924. It was established by eight medicinal guilds of Guangzhou,three medicinal associations of Hong Kong,and the Chinese medicine profession of Guangdong.Lu Naitong,Chen Renmei,Zhou Zhongfang,Feng Linruo,Li Zhizhi,Tan Yingcai,Pan Shixian,and Luo Yuankai were successively in charge.The course required five years.This school lasted longer than any other contemporary TCM schoo1.It survived until August 1955.graduating 571 students in 21 classes.In 1956,the Guangzhou College of TCM.one of the first group of Colleges of TCM,was founded on its basis.It has more recently become the Guangzhou University of TCM.During the Anti-Japanese War the School moved to Hong Kong.The illustration is the cover of the Journal published in Hong Kong in January 1941.
