Lacquer Figure with Painted Circulation Channels

Unearthed in April 1 993 at Han Tomb no.2,Shuang-baoshan,Yungxing town,Mianyang,Sichuan Province.H:28.1 cm.Erect.nude figure(1eft hand and right foot broken off).Realistically modeled with harmonious proportions from specially black-painted lacquer.On the front and back of the figure are a number of lines running from the top of the head to the feet or to the thighs.On the head and backs of the hands are more than ten connected or intersecting horizontal and vertical lines.A1l the lines are painted in red lacquer.w:0.1 to 0.15cm,following orderly paths.According to specialists,they depict circulation channels.This is the earliest artifact found in China that models the circulation channels.
