Mr. Qian, 77, came for treatment on December 27, 2006.
He had the history of diabetes mellitus for eighteen years, with fasting blood sugar of 7.8 mmol/L, thirst, poor appetite, insomnia, dreaminess, dark red and thin tongue with yellowish slime in the root, peeling fur in the front, and vacuous string-like pulse.
