Character of the tongue: There are bleeding spots on the tongue.
Clinical significance: It is often seen either in exogenous heat diseases in which the heat drives the blood out of vessels to cause bleeding, or in endogenous minscellaneous disease in which the internal organs bleed, or in spleen deficiency syndrome in which the spleen fails to control the blood.
