The so called "rotating manipulations" (Fig 181) refer to those movements in which the manipulator rotates the patient’s suffered joints slowly and gently, which belong to mobilizing manipulation.
In the rotating manipulations, the manipulator usually takes one hand to stabilize the proximal part of the joint and the other hand to hold the distal part, then induces the joint to be rotated with steady and gentle force. According to the physiological and pathological movement range of the joint, the rotation range should be varied from narrow to broad and increased gradually. It is allowed to exceed the pathological limit, but it should not exceed the physiological limit. Both violent movement and those movements that transgress the physiological movement are strictly forbidden.Click to learn Meniere's Disease in TCM.
