The patient is in the sitting position, relaxing his shoulder and dropping his upper limb. Standing by the patient’s anterolateral side, the practitioner holds the lower end of the suffered forearm with his two hands, then shakes the upper limb up and down in a narrow range gently with the shoulder joint being kept 45 degrees of abduction and flexion. The range of shaking is changed from broad to narrow while the frequency changed from low to high. The manipulator should make the vibration gradually transmit to the shoulder, and make the whole upper limb relaxed and comfortable (Fig 304). It is usually applied as the final manipulation to treat Dain and motion disorder in the shoulder and elbow joints.
