[Location] Localized in the prone position. Midpoint of the transverse crease of the popliteal fossa, between the tendons of m. biceps femoris and m. semitendinous. (Fig.64)
[Regional Anatomy] Skin→subcutaneous tissue→between the medial and lateral heads of the gastrocnemius. Superficial layer, the distribution of the posterior femoral cutaneous nerve, and the small saphenous vein; deep layer, the tibial nerve, the popliteal artery and vein, and the sural artery.
