Chinese Cupping helps relieve Lubar intervertebral disc protrusion

The prolapse of lumbar intervertabral disc falls into the category of "lumbocrural pain", "Bi syndrome", "lumbago" in TCM.According to TCM theropy, asthenia of renal qi is the intenal cause of the disease. Long living in wet area, cold-dampness staying the waist, traumatic injury and waist injury are the essential exogenous causes of the disease.

Location cupped and methods:
Acupoints selected: Shenshu (BL23), Dachangshu (BL25), huantiao, chengfu, yatongdian, Weizhong (BL 40), Chengshan (BL57)

Methods:
1. Stationary cupping: when the patient takes prone position, you should choose use proper cupping cups or autovac cups to sunk yatongdian, shenshu, dachangshu, huantiao, chengfu, weizhong and chengshanxue for 15~20 minutes. Caution that you should do that once a day and take ten times as one treatment period.

2. Acucupping: when the patient takes the prone position, you should use the acupuncture needles to prick the acupoints of shenshu, dachangshu, huantiao, chengfu, yantongdian, weizhong and chengshan, and then get proper cups to cup them for 10~15 minutes.

3. Moving cupping: when the patient takes the prone position, you should overlay some massage oil or ointment onto the patient’s flank and choose proper cups to cup the pain-feeling spots after flash of fire. Then you should push and pull the cup for several times towards lumber, till the erubescence appears.

4. venesection cupping: when the patient takes the prone position, you should use the club-like needles to stab the pain-feeling spots until spot-like bleeding. Then you should get them cup so as to get out the gore. Next, you should wipe the blood out and get them disinfected with iodide sponge after removal the cups.
