Cupping (Suction cup) for the Treatment of Neurodermatitis in TCM

The traditional Chinese medicine thought that this defect is as a result of the seven emotions internal injury, heart anger is prosperous, bends down thermal fiery in the blood, cause blood abundant and heat. Then can create wind; or wind, wet, thermal evil attack, siltat in muscle texture and become thermal, becomes defective for a long time from the shallow to the deep. From outside to inside, blood thermal abundant, then creates wind: Or the old and long illness, the blood consumes, the blood deficiency, causes the essence of food to be insufficient, the flesh loses raises, so becomes chronically.

Location cupped and methods:
Acupoints selected: Dazhui, Shenshu (BL23), Feishu (BL 13) and focus of infection

Cupping methods:
You should adopt cupping of venesection or stationary cupping to suck above acupoints. Firstly, you should use three-edged needles or acupuncture needles to prick the above acupoints, and use cupping after flash of fire to make the cups sucking on the pricked acupoints when the patient has got acmesthesia feeling. You should use acucupping on local focus of infection (percuss the skin until bleeding) or cupping with covering garlic (mash garlic on focus of infection then cupping), and daub 5%-10% cresol and soap solution or 25% iodine tincture on focus of infection). If the focus of infection is widely engaged, you should daub some more on it, retaining it for 10-15minutes. After removal of the cups, you could put some warming moxibustion on the cupped areas for 15 minutes once a day; after the patient feels relieved, you should change the frequency into one time every other day or every two days, ten times a treatment.
