Cupping (Suction cup) treatment is effective for Erysipelas

It is believed in Chinese medicine that its occurring on the head and face is often related to pathogenic wind, heat and fire and that happening in the lower part of the body is usually related to accumulation of dampness and heat.

Acupoints selected:
1. Acupoints of dazhui, Shenshu (BL23), xinjian, jianwaishu and the health skin around dandu for the diseases affecting the head and face.

2. Acupoints of Dachangshu (BL25), huantiao, ciliao, and the heath skin around dandu part fot the diseases affecting the lower limbs

Cupping methods:
You should choose one group of acupoints and adopt cupping according to different parts of diseases. You should stay the cup on the skin for 10 minutes; or you should insert fast into the small vessels between skin or the center and round the affected area and then adopt cupping on these parts. (Centeral area should not be cupped.)
