(1) Wind Phelgm Blocking the Meridians
Chief Manifestations: Abrupt onset of hemiplegia, distortion of the face, stiff tongue, dysphasia, numbness in one side of the body, dizziness, blurred vision, dull pale tongue with thin and white coating, or white and greasy coating, wiry and smooth pluse.
(2) Hyperactivity of Liver Yang
Chief Manifestations: Hemiplegia, numbness in one side of the body, stiff tongue, dysphasia, distortion of the mouth and tongue, dizziness, headache, flushed face, red eyes, bitter taste in the mouth, dry throat, restlessness, irritability, dark urine and dry stools, red or crimsom tongue with thin, yellow coating, and wiry, forceful pulse.
(3) Excess Syndrome of Fu Organs due to Phlegm Heat
Chief Manifestations: Hemiplegia, distortion of the mouth and tongue, dysphasia, numbness in one side of the body, abdominal distention, constipation, dizziness, blurred vision, productive cough, dark red or dull pale tongue with yellow or yellow, greasy coating, and wiry and smooth pulse or wiry, smooth and large pulse.
(4) Stagnation of Blood due to Deficiency of Qi
Chief Manifestations: Hemiplegia, distortion of the mouth and tongue, dysphasia, numbness in one side of the body, pale complexion, shortness of breath, lassitude, angular salivation, spontaneous perspiration, palpitation, loose stools, swollen hands and feet, dull pale tongue with thin and white coating or white and greasy coating, deep and thready pulse, thready and even-soft or thready and wiry pulse.
(5) Stirring up of Endogenous Wind due to Deficiency of Yin
Chief Manifestations: Hemiplegia, distortion of the mouth and tongue, dysphasia, numbness in one side of the body, irritability, insomnia, dizziness, tinnitus, feverish sensation over the palms and soles, crimson or dark red tongue with little coating or no coating, thready and wiry pulse or thready, wiry and rapid pulse.
