Vitiligo is a word taken from Latin language, whose meaning is calf. Vitiligo is a skin disease in which skin loss his pigment cells because of poor production of melanin cells in skin. The symptoms of disease include appearance of white milky patches on skin, which helps to diagnose the disease. Other symptoms include premature hair color changing, mucous membrane damage and affected retina of eye.

Vitiligo is possible in both genders of any age & race. The disease affects 40-50 million people of world wide, which makes 1-2 percent. The initial white spot or patch is spread mostly on those body areas (face, hands) that directly face the sun rays. A vitiligo patch spreading or growing process is depends on patient’s body condition. In some patients it is seen that vitiligo patches distribution is in symmetrically or asymmetrically. Earlier patch is limited to some areas of body and after some time they covered whole body areas.
