Primary infertility (sterility) is a commonly encountered gynecological disease. About 10% of the couples at the age of 25 - 35 suffer from sterility. This percentage is increasing year by year. In the human reproduction procedure, a number of factors may affect pregnancy and lead to sterility. This chapter only discusses female sterility. Couples of proper age with normal sexual life without using contraception for two years without pregnancy is called sterility. No experience of pregnancy after marriage is known as primary sterility.
