Cupping (Suction cup) treatment is effective for Irregular Period

TCM believes that irregular menstruation is caused by exogenous cold and heat or internal impairment due to emotional disorder, excessive sexual activity and frequent labor that lead to disorder of qi and blood as well as impairment of the thoroughfare and conception vessels.

Location cupped and methods:
Acupoints selected: Ganshu (BL 18), Pishu (BL20), mingmen, Shenshu (BL23), Qihaishu (BL24), guanyuanshu, ciliao, qihai, guanyuan, guilia, xuehai, zusanli, sanyinjiao

Cupping methods:
1. Pure cupping: you should adopt cupping after flash of fire on the acupoints of pishu, shenshu, guanyuan, zusanli, sanyinjiao.

2. Needling cupping: after disinfection of the acupoints of ganshu, pishu, shenshu, qihai, guanyuan, sanyinjiao and the acupuncture needles, you should adopt cupping on the needled points.

3. Cupping of venesection: after disinfection of the acupoints of mingmen, yaoshu, qihaixue, guanyuanshu, guanyuan and xuehai, you should stab these acupoints for 3 to 5 times with triangle-edged needles and then adopt cupping.

4. Moving cupping: you should move the cup along the line from shenshu of the Urinary Bladder Channel of Foot-Taiyang to ciliao until red blood stasis appears on the skin and then stab the acupoints of guanyuan, guilai, zusanli, sanyinjiao, and suck the cups with the needles on.
