1. Syndrome of Invasion of Pathogenic Wind
Main Symptoms and Signs: Uncomfortable sensation of eye, constant itching, normal eyesight, and light red eyelid with a few red granules; thin whitish tongue coating and floating pulse.
2. Syndrome of Ocular Accumulation of pathogenic Wind-heat
Main Symptoms and Signs: Burning itching in the eye, repeated occurrence in spring, cobble-like reddish granules in eyelid tidily arranged, severe condition when facing wind blow, sunshine or fire fumigation; thin yellowish tongue coating and floating rapid pulse.
3. Syndrome of Pathogenic Damp-heat Plus Wind
Main Symptoms and Signs: Peculiar and unbearable eye-itching, tears with mucopurulent secretion, thickness and heaviness of the palpebra, yellowish and turbid bulbar conjunctiva, and thickness of corneal boundaries; red tongue with yellowish greasy coating and smooth pulse.
4. Syndrome of Endogenic Wind due to Blood Asthenia
Main Symptoms and Signs: Mild itching of eye now and then, recurrence without recovery, accompanied by a dry and uncomfortable sensation in the eye, light red palpebral conjunctiva and a few scattering and soft granules; pale tongue with thin coating and thin pulse.
