Ginseng Gruel for Qi (Energy)

INGREDIENTS   
polished round-grained rice, Semen Oryzae Sativae  50 to 100g
ginseng, Ginseng-(Renshen).shtml" target='_blank' title="Radix Ginseng (Renshen)">Radix Ginseng (Renshen)  10g

PROCESS: Cut ginseng into pieces, soak it in clear water for 40 minutes, and then, put it in an earthenware pot (or an aluminium pan). Heat it over a strong fire until the water boils, then change to a gentle fire and go on heating it for about two hours; wash the rice and put it into the ginseng decoction to make gruel.

DIRECTIONS: Take it twice a day, in the morning and in the evening. It produces an effect if taken over a long period of time.

EFFICACY: Reinforcing the middle-jiao, replenishing qi and invigorating the spleen.

INDICATIONS: Dyspepsia due to dysfunction of the stomach and spleen, marked by poor appetite, Chronic Gastritis, loose or soft stool, discomfort in the stomach or even diarrhea after taking a bit of cold food or dink.

PRECAUTIONS: Don’t use ironware to make the gruel; radish and tea are prohibited to be taken during the period of taking such gruel.
