Presence of stones in the gall bladder and diseases associated with it is referred to as cholelithiasis.
Explanation:
A gall stone is a stone formed out of bile compounds.
Types of gall stones:
1) cholesterol stones
2) bilirubin stones
3) mixed stones ( contain calcium compounds along with cholesterol.
Though it is not fully clear why gall stones form, but following conditions may lead to the formation of gall stones :
-- High level of cholesterol in blood : usually chemicals in the bile dissolve cholesterol excreted by the liver . But when liver excretes excess cholesterol, it may form into crystals and eventually into stones.
-- High levels of bilirubin in blood: liver cirrhosis, biliary tract infections and certain blood disorders cause the liver to make too much bilirubin. Excess bilirubin contributes to the formation of gall stones
-- Gall bladder doesn't empty correctly : when the gall bladder doesn't empty fully or often enough, bile becomes very concentrated and this may result in the formation of gall stones.
Instructions:
Lemon Juice: Another good ingredient for keeping gallstone attacks under control is lemon juice. It stops your liver from making cholesterol, which helps in faster recovery. The pectin in lemon juice is believed to help get rid of gallbladder pain attributed to stones.
Plus, the vitamin C in lemon juice makes cholesterol more water soluble, which promotes faster elimination of waste products.
Drink fresh juice squeezed from four lemons each day on an empty stomach. Follow the drink with a glass of water. Continue this therapy for a week.
Alternatively, you can drink four tablespoons of lemon juice mixed in a glass of warm water every day on an empty stomach. Continue this treatment for several weeks until the gallstones are eliminated from the body.
