Hong Jin Luo is an elite Chinese Red tea. It is made from the highest grade of tea buds. Hong Jin Luo’s thin, and slightly twisted leaves give a rich aroma and a ruby golden infusion. It has a very deep honey tart taste, and a strong aftertaste.
Production
Hong Jin Luo is made only in the north of Yunnan Province. Harvesting and processing is all done by hand. Like all Red teas Hong Jin Luo tea is highly fermented, and hence shares many characteristics to other Red teas.
Medicinal Properties
According to Chinese medicine, Hong Jin Luo effectively releases excess heat from the body, producing a cooling effect. It reinvigorates the nervous system, dilates blood vessels and acts as a blood purifier.
In addition, Hong Jin Luo has its own specific properties due it being a unique microflora. It has a positive effect on the microflora of the human body improving one’s immunity and promoting longevity.
Brewing
1. Suitable for brewing in a Gaiwan, flask or clay pot.
2. Pour boiling water over the teaware to warm it up.
3. Put 5-7 grams of tea leaves per 100-120 ml water.
4. Pour boiling water (100 degrees) over the leaves. The first steep can be made after 15-20 seconds.
5. The first brew is designed to wash the leaves, and should be discarded.
6. The second steep can be made after a few seconds to around 20 seconds, depending on one's taste. (The shorter the brewing time, the more steeps the tea can endure).
This tea can be brewed up to 7-8 times .
