This is a disease with reduced discharge or complete cessation of urination; the former condition is called "long" and the latter condition is called "bi" in traditional Chinese medicine. The retention of urine and urea in modern medicine can be treated by the following methods.
Applications of hand therapy:
Acupuncture therapy:
At regular and extra acupoints:
Location: Shaoshang (LU11), Hegu (LI 4)
Method of manipulation: Bleeding therapy with three-edged needle is applied at Shaoshang (LU11), and the regular needle is punctured at Hegu (LI 4) acupoint for 3.3 cm and retained for 30 minutes.
At reflective areas:
Location: Perineum area of palmar reflective areas and ulnar or radial reverse palmar reflective areas.
Method of manipulation: The needles are shallowly inserted and removed right after the twisting, lifting, and thrusting stimulation.
At special acupoint beside the second metacarpal bone:
Location: Lower abdomen acupoint.
Method of manipulation: The needle is inserted for 1.6 cm and retained for 15 minutes after medium needling stimulation.
Hand bath:
Recipe: Peach Twig (Taozhi), Liuzhi (Ramulus Salicis), Caulk; Akebiae (Mutong), Pericarpium Zanthoxyli (Huajiao)">Pericarpium Zanthoxyli (Huajiao), Alumen (Mingfan) 30 g of each, fresh green onion stalks 100 g and Dengxin (Medulla Junci) 15g.
Function: To promote discharge of urine and relieve dribbling urination.
Method of manipulation: The herbs are wrapped in gauze and boiled in water to prepare a hot decoction for steaming and washing both hands and perineal region for 30-40 minutes, twice a day.
