Testicular torsion is a condition in which the spermatic cord twists resulting to the cutoff of the blood supply to the testicle. The most common underlying causve of testicular torsion is the malformation called the "bell-clapper deformity". Testicular torsion occurs when the testicles hang loose on the scrotum and in very seldom cases, they are twisted, thus the channel with the blood vessels is tightened and blood flow going to the testicles is blocked. There are several factors that contribute to the development of testicular torsion. These include the congenital conditions, testicular size and the temperature.
