Key Points for Diagnosis:
Chinese medicine for hemorrhoids and rectocele is associated with five major patterns: intestinal wind, dry intestine, damp/heat, spleen deficiency, and blood stasis.
Intestinal Wind:
In this condition, fresh blood oozes out before or after passing bowels. You may notice blood on toilet paper or stool.
Dry Intestine:
This is a condition of chronic constipation with dry stools. Straining to pass bowels may cause swelling of the tissues. Bleeding may occur before or after defecation.
Damp/Heat:
This condition is associated with inflamed internal hemorrhoids. The sufferer may notice fresh blood oozing out before or after defecation. The enlarged and swollen hemorrhoids may cause itching, irritation, burning, and pain.
Spleen Deficiency:
In this condition, the hemorrhoids are quite painful and protruding. The bleeding may be scanty or heavy.
Blood Stasis:
This is a condition of chronic hemorrhoids that may cause continuous or severe pain. The fissures are quite large and dark. Symptoms include bleeding, pain, irritation and itching.
In TCM, a disease or a symptom might be caused by one pathogenic factor, even two or three pathogenic factors. When diagnosing a disease or a symptom, TCM doctors must follow the principle of "Syndrome Dfferentiation", and then "Suit the Remedy to the Case". In order to gain a more definite and valuable diagnosis, it's important and necessary for the doctor to learn the detailed health information of the patient, including his/her disease duration, age, sex, height, weight, family history, urine, stool, diet, sleep, sweat, energy, mood (emotion), as well as the tongue conditions and the palm conditions, etc. If you would want our expert to create a TCM diagnosis, you're welcome to contact us.
