The operator and his assistant or two assistants respectively hold the distal and proximal ends of the affected limbs and pull in reverse direction. It is suitable for fracture and dislocation, especially for correcting overlapped displacement. It is the first method chosen for reducing fracture and dislocation. In manipulation, traction should be performed following the original posture of the limb first, then along the longitudinal axis; the force should be from light to strong, steady and continuous. If the pulling force is not strong enough, some equipments (like reduction bed and cloth band) may be applied.
