[Location] Localized in supine position or the erect sitting position. when knee is flexed, on the medial aspect of the thigh, the point is 2 cun above the medio-superior border of the patella. The simple and cnnvenient localization: when patient is asked to flex the knee, doctor cup the left palm on the superior edge of the patient's right knee cap, extend fingers upwards, and the thumb make a 450 angle to the index. The point is where the tip of the thumb rests. ( Fig.32 )
[Regional Anatomy] Skin→subcutaneous tissue→medial vastus muscle of thigh. Superficial layer, the prior cutaneous branch of the femoral nerve, the subordiantial ramus of the greater saphenous vein; deep layer, the muscular branches of the femoral artery and vein, and the muscular branches of the femoral nerve.
