[Location] Localized in the erect sitting position or supine position, on the medial aspect of the lower leg, in the depression of the lower border of the medial condyle of the tibia. (Fig.31)
 
[Regional Anatomy] Skin→subcutaneous tissue→semitendinosus tendon→the medial head of gastrocnemius. Superficial layer, the medial crural cutaneous branch of the saphenous nerve, the greater saphenous vein, and the branches of the descending genicular artery; deep layer, the medial aspect artery and vein below the knee.
