Acupuncture Extra Point Ying-Spring Point (EX-HN6)
Location:
Erjian (LI2) Ying-Spring Point at the apex auricula.
Function:
Dissipating heat, cooling blood, and improving eyesight.
Indications:
Redness, swelling and pain of the eyes, febrile diseases, and nebula.
Prescription:
Combined use with BaihuiGV20 (Acupuncture Single Point Baihui (GV20)), ShencangKI25 (Shencang (KI25)), ZulinqiGB41 (Zulinqi (GB41) Shu-Stream Point, The Eight Confluent Point), TinghuiGB2 (Tinghui (GB2)), FengchiGB20 (Acupuncture Single Point Fengchi (GB20)), GuangmingGB37 (Guangming (GB37) Luo-Connecting Point), TaiyangEXHN5 (EX-HN5) for treatment of headache and migrain; and with TaiyangEXHN5 (EX-HN5) for treatment of keratohelcosis.
Methods:
Insert the needle perpendicularly to 0.1-0.2 cun deep or prick to cause bleeding; needling response: local pain sensation; moxibustion: using 1-3 moxa-cones, or mild moxibustion for 5-10 min.
